As the new owner of OmTown Yoga Studio, I would love to take this opportunity to introduce myself. After many years of resisting yoga, I finally gave in with the help of a very persuasive friend. March 21st, 2006 will forever be embedded in my memory. On that fateful day, my daughter and I took our first yoga class together. After this one class, I repeat ONE practice, I felt an immediate sense of calm and peace. Since that transformative day, twelve years ago, I still love yoga and practice it daily. Yoga has offered never ending healing for my mind, body, heart, and soul.

Within two years of starting yoga, I felt a strong desire to share the gifts of this time honored practice. Many years as a competitive gymnast and 30+ years of experience in education and education administration also lent itself to my motivation and inspiration to enlighten and help heal others through movement and mindfulness.

I received my 200 and 500 hour yoga teacher training certificates from the Yoga Center of Columbia, in 2008 and 2013, respectively. Additionally, in July 2017, I received a certification to teach Dr. Loren Fishman’s Yoga for Osteoporosis method. Although I began my journey with Anusara inspired teachers, I have a deep respect and appreciation for all yoga paths. The breadth and depth of my education have been enhanced through continued training and courses, both nationally and internationally. I work hard to ensure that students are offered the most up-to-date methods to enhance their practices.

I especially enjoy teaching and practicing Hatha, alignment-based, slow flow, and therapeutic yoga classes for all ages and abilities. It is my humble honor to serve you in a more profound way in my new role at OmTown Yoga.

Private Lessons

In addition to OmTown Yoga’s array of excellent yoga classes, I offer one-on-one yoga sessions at our beautiful studio in Seattle.

If you’re new to yoga, private lessons can introduce you to yoga at your own pace and teach you how to modify common poses based on your special needs.

If you want individual coaching in yoga, private lessons can take you to a higher level in your practice.

If you have repetitive postural stresses from work or play, or you tend to aggravate old injuries, private lessons can be preventive and remedial. 

Wendy is the founder of OmTown Yoga and is an Anusara-Inspired Teacher formerly associated with the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga. She also brings 15 years of experience in massage therapy to her evolving work. Email: WendyLippmann@gmail.com.

Bonnie brings 11 years of experience as a yoga teacher. 10 years as a competitive gymnast, and 30+ years as a school teacher and education administrator. Her specialties include, but are not limited to, yoga therapeutics for adults, seniors, teens, and children of all levels and abilities (ie. yoga for: a healthy back, healthy bones, arthritis, learning differences, and chair yoga). Fees

$100/one hour. Inquire about fees for semi-private, family lessons, and private group lessons. Payment is due at the time of service. Some insurance carriers may reimburse your expense.

OmTown Yoga studio is located at 5500 35th Avenue NE in the Bryant neighborhood between University Village and Wedgwood.

Wendy Lippmann, Founder

Wendy Lippmann founded OmTown Yoga in 2003, with a leap of faith, a love of yoga, and a whole lot of help from her friends. Wendy is a fount of information about gross and subtle anatomy gleaned from hands on experience as a massage therapist, living curiously and adventurously in a body for more than 6 decades, and practicing meditation since being a hippie teenager.   She relies on yoga and meditation every day, as essential and life enhancing.   She studied yoga first and devotedly with Feldenkrais-influenced Treya Forlenza, enjoyed a terrific education at the Brian Utting School of Massage, joined the illustrious teaching staff at Seattle Yoga Arts in 1996 under the tutelage of master teacher and mentor Denise Benitez,  and danced to the merry  ascent of Anusara Yoga, inspired by its heart-opening, exuberant spirit and brilliant alignment guidelines.  Wendy teaches with clarity, precision and humor. Her classes feature therapeutic movement and breathing sequences guided with intelligent biomechanical principles, spiritual inspiration and humor.  “I am a true believer that Yoga is an elixir of freedom and fulfillment. I opened a yoga studio to nurture a friendly, supportive, inquisitive community of thoughtful people interested in healthy practices like Yoga. May it serve as a balm for our hearts.”

Marcie Leek

Marcie is a certified Viniyoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level.  She is also certified in Yoga for Round Bodies.  She has found Yoga, meditation, and breath work to be powerful tools in her life, and she is inspired to help others do the same.  Marcie’s warmth and wisdom support students in finding their own comfort and unique abilities in Yoga.   For more information about Marcie visit www.nourishingbreathyoga.com marcie leek@comcast.net

Patty Turnberg

Patty Turnberg, a lifelong student of dance and aerobics, has always filled her life with the joy of moving.  Recently, in recognition and appreciation of the aging process, her focus turned to yoga and she earned her 200 hour Teacher Training Certificate from 8 Limbs Yoga Center in Seattle.  Her aim is to guide people of all ages into moving and breathing with intention and joy.

Kymbr McMurray

Kymbr has a passion for fostering a community built upon inclusion and warmth.  Her classes establish strength through insightful sequencing and grounding through the cultivation of breath awareness with an emphasis on compassion for one’s self and others.  Her empathy and enthusiasm encourage students to look within for stability, and her humor invites a sense of presence in the moment. With a fervor for learning, Kymbr obtained her 200-hour yoga teacher training through 8 Limbs Yoga Centers and is currently enrolled in the 500-hour program. She has an immense appreciation for the benefits of meditation and has studied meditation practices ranging in influence from Buddhist philosophy, concentration, energy and journey work. Kymbr’s approach motivates students to listen to their inner guide and to trust what their body, mind, and heart have to offer.

Liz Valuari

Liz Valuari came to yoga after many years of working in dance as a choreographer, performer, and teacher.  She considers yoga to be a wonderful tool for maintaining inner/outer balance and appreciation of the present moment.  Her classes are designed to help students discover ease, strength, focus, and integration in their practice. Liz’s teaching style offers a dynamic blend of effort and relaxation, with high regard for breath support, alignment, and movement connectivity.  Liz is a graduate of the teacher training program at Samadhi Yoga in Seattle. She is certified to teach Universal Yoga by Andrey Lappa and is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst. She is also influenced by her study of Anusara Yoga and Aston Repatterning.  Liz’s goal is to find inroads from all her experiences to create a class that is nurturing to every student.

Monique McFadden

Monique is a mother, teacher, yogi and watercolor artist. Born and raised in Portland and Seattle, she is a Pacific Northwesterner at heart. After living and raising two amazing girls in Yakima, she and her husband moved back to Seattle in 2016. With classroom experience as a teacher of Adult English as a Second Language and as an avid yogi for several years, Monique has combined her passions for teaching and yoga.  She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training program at Whole Life Yoga in Seattle, and looks forward to completing her 500-Hour teacher training at Seattle’s Eight Limbs Yoga.  She is registered with Yoga Alliance. 

Monique is a committed, nurturing, creative and focused practitioner and teacher who believes that yoga should be accessible to students of all ages, levels, and abilities. She is beyond happy to be sharing her love for yoga and her belief in the mind-body connection with others.
